The shade frame dates from the c. 1940’s. It has been skilfully recovered with deep, rich GP&J Baker crimson patterned velvet and trimming with coordinating red and cream tassel fringe and red tassels.
The shade sits atop a wooden base dated from c. 1900 that was purportedly once in the possession of the Countess of Wemyss. It has been hand painted in a corresponding crimson to match the shade and rewired in cream three core silk flex. Solid brass swans fully polished and lacquered to prevent tarnishing. New brass lamp holder and plug wired with 3amp fuse. PAT tested and fully working.
